Wow, things have been really redesigned since the last time I was on here (looks great, by the way), so I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate my way around the site. There used to be a "What is it?" forum for people to ID the strange things they've found, but couldn't seem to locate it, so I thought I'd post it here.
As things have been quite frigid here in central PA, I thought I'd scratch my treasurehunting itch by getting out my pinpointer and exploring the old forgotten coal bin in my basement (yes, I know, I'm a weirdo). Although the house is about 150 years old, it had remained in the same family since 1963, and has been rented out to dozens of tenants since then. While digging through a pile of dirt and ashes, I came across this tiny plastic toy (presumably from a child's dollhouse, possibly 1960s-70s), about 1.5 inches in length. When I washed it off, I was amused to discover that it appears to be wearing a tiny little paper loincloth and a headband, which have been remarkably well preserved. I was also amused by the baby's somewhat "suggestive" pose. At any rate, my research has failed to turn up anything pertaining to the history of this strange toy.
Although I'm certain it has no monetary value whatsoever, it's just one of those mysteries that will keep me up at night until I find out what the heck it is.
