weird dime

Hello my seven year old noticed "this dime looks like a penny"
Size of a dime, marked like a dime, color of an unshined penny on both sides. It was minted in Denver.
Any idea what it's worth?

Kv do you Metal detect ?

reason I ask is the dime you found may have been found with a Detector & cleaned.
depending on cleaning source used.

some do brown, like a thin rust, especially if it was originally lost in wet ground

Clad coins will keep the tone they got from being in the ground awhile

If you don't metal detect, You may just see it as Copper color
