Congrats! It maybe a steel cent. If you can post pics of it someone may be able to verify what you found.

What...?? :icon_scratch: Any way you can get a picture up ? :dontknow: Sounds like maybe a magicians coins ? Steel Cents were made only in 1943...

Keep @ it and HH !!

Not a fake, plated. I have one from 1958. Somewhere :icon_scratch:
It is weakly magnetic and noticeably heavier
Here is one I found on the net...
1951 steel wheat forged.webp

Plated makes more sense - not sure what you mean by " set in like a nickel but a lot more depth " pic is the only way forward here .

Here are some pics of the weird penny

Looks like someone made a necklace out of it.

Don't know about the magnet, but it is spooned (A kind of post mint damage).

Looks like someone made a necklace out of it.

I agree, probably was on a chain and broke off. The ring around the penny is probably the only part attracted to the magnet.

Yeah, looks like a necklace bezel... :icon_scratch: Does the magnet stick to the bezel or to the coin ? ???

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:
