Hi, could you please help me with what is in this rock?
One side is a smooth circle shape with a smooth ridged crater in the middle. Looks kind of like an eyeball, but how could it be?
Other side also has something in it. Close inspection looks like little holes in skin, or leathery. I can't explain it.
Thanks!

EDIT: Was just told in another forum that it's a base of a Crinoid calyx if anyone wants to know.

Knowing the size would be helpful. Going by just the domed side, looks like a pottery bottom, but the other side looks more fossilish. Then with fossils in the surrounding matrix?....just thinking, don't know. That's a weird one.

It's about an inch and a half.
Thanks for your reply. Have no idea about fossils, I'm brand new to it.

You are welcome, and welcome to Treasurenet. I like your name. Reminds me Grace Slick.

Crinoid? not too familiar with them but it seems like it.
