Weird Spinny Thing

I found this item in a field in Luxembourg where I have found stuff from the 1600s - modern times.
It appears to be made of copper.
The bottom makes it look as if it had broken off of something else but I'm not 100%
Any info is appreciated as I have no clue.

OP stated it "spins"... Although my first thought was finial as well... but size sorta makes this less likely... but not impossible.

This is my first "what is it" return... been out of loop lately and will continue.

Glad to see you back . the what is it forum is my favorite . the piece shown looks solid to me and I took the'' spinny'' thing to mean it resembled a toy called a top.
