Hey everyone I dug this on what I consider to be a fairly old site. I have no idea what it is and I would appreciate suggestions! 2D9B5438-F59B-4208-9CB2-BD9352779A2A.jpeg 40356CE7-C051-4CC6-9911-8B7A5F671EC9.jpeg 50C10EE7-B656-4978-815C-F7AD2BE1131C.jpeg B6CE6DFF-CD40-4535-8434-23491700F1AF.jpeg

I've found something like that similar from old Erie canal sites. They have the same bulk toward the middle on one side and were used as washers. I don't know if that's what you have but here's a pic of what I'm referring to.

The pic is of a more detailed washer but same idea.

It's a convex washer , they can be found on most all cars and other machines as well.

The larger ones were called bolster washers, used on wagons, saw mills, grain mills, etc. Any where wood was held together with rods or bolts.

Thanks for the responses ya'll. Ya'll nailed it with the identification. The variety of iron implements and their functions you find while detecting never ceases to amaze me. Thanks!
