Depends on the bank, honestly. I'm having good luck taking my dumps at Wells Fargo :laughing7:

Some have counters, some have to do it behind the counter. With their big machines, I run a grand at a time. I haven't had an issue with half dollars, except that time I clogged the machine.

But clogging is always a possibility during dumps, so I am fine with that.

In my area they took bags all day long. 1-2K at a time. Then the fees started..

You can dump at Wells Fargo no problem, the key words with Wells Fargo though are FEES FEES FEES!

Is your signature pic a

Federal reserve seal?

But to the op my local wells Fargfry tried to charge me fees but then I asked for them to show me in writing where the fees where's stated, they recommended me to a corporate man who said its fine to "deposit coins" so I have been depositing not cashing.

Worst thing about wells in my area is bags are always subject to count which takes 10 business days....

I haven't opened an account at Wells Fargo because they require $600 minimum balance to avoid monthly fees for students ($500 in checking and $100 in savings) -- or $25 in savings if you have a monthly transfer of $25 or more from checking, but that presents its own problems. Most banks have no minimum balance for students.

don't use wells fargo they charge fees.

I used to bank exclusively at Bofa for many years growing up. The customer service was terrible so I switched to Wells Fargo. The service was great until a couple years ago. It's been going downhill fast. Now I have an account at both. I would say Bofa has improved but still not great.

I noticed online they charge a $5/month fee on a savings acct if balance < $300. What I am really concerned with is if they will take either rolled coin or coin bags w/out a fee. I'd gladly pay $5/month if I am able to dump 25-50 boxes of halves there each month.

Wells fargo is the ONLY national branch to deny me ANY coins.

"we only sell to members" ect - F you - I know why I left your institution.

That being said, some of the branches are VERY nice, and I have gotten silver from them.

I've had the opposite experience when it comes to WF. I've never been denied coin at any WF branch. Even when I told them that I did not have an account. PNC on the other hand will not give me coin unless I have an account.

I started hunting years back at a wells fargo in TX. they were always real good about it. Now I dump coins at one every now and then, or sometimes switch out boxes of dimes, and it's been all good so far. just my experience. I have .08c in my checking right now and $3.15 in my savings, it's been that way for 3 years

In my area its $40/month to process coin orders, and $7/full bag of coin. I have the fee schedule here somewhere, Ill try to post it up.

I still score silver from wells, when I go in to make deposits I ask for all their halves. One of the branches will sell my boxes without requiring me to swipe my card, so I pick one up for time to time. Always a skunk. I dump small quantities from searching CWRs, but never bags anymore.

I dump (using Coin-lok bags) at a particular branch of Wells Fargo, a bit out of my way, that I know somebody else hunts at. So that way, I'm not put in the position of trying to ask them for half dollars while simultaneously bringing in bags of them! I haven't heard anything about fees. It does take a couple of weeks for the credit to show up in my account, so it helps to have enough floating balance to keep hunting while waiting for that deposit.
