Nice find, I seem to remember getting those when I was a kid in the 60s. Is that not a trade mark with the date 1965 below the car? HH, Mike

i found out that these tokens were a series that sunoco put out in 1968. they did a 2nd series in 1969. they arent worth a whole lot, but it was fun to find anyway. its definitly somthing to throw in the nick nack box!

Hi hollowpoint, I remember handing those out at my Father's Sunoco Station. When you got a fill up you got a coin that was in a wrapper so you couldn't see whick one you were getting. They gave you sheets with little holders so you could collect the whole series. Another blast from the past. :D

hollowpointred, didn't Shell Oil do a Presidents bronze token series back in the 60's? I think it was Shell?

Anyway, I had the whole set at one time. Somehow they were put into our trash burning barrel and I didn't know this until I was dumping the ashes. After that I just buried them in the yard with the ashes. They're most likely still there today. I think this is how a lot of today's digs got into yards.

I don't think any of these gas sets are worth much today but they do make for cool detector finds.

Nice find.
