So, I went hunting at a friend's farm yesterday!
I hunted in the woods, in the fields, all around a very overgrown property.....looking for some CW relics, and whathaveyou....
I must have walked miles today, beautiful sunshine and 80 degrees, we could not have asked for more....ok, some more beer...but that's it.
I had just found a civil war graveyard, complete with detailed headstones....(I did not have my real camera, just my cell phone...so I could not get great pics of that)......and I was headed back to the truck....on an old road in the woods.....I saw a relatively large old tree to my right, about ten feet off the road....sure enough, I got a signal in the mid twenties, and I think in the thirties. It said it was possibly foil or pulltab. It was about a four inch deep signal.....very root infested area, just under the surface at about three inches, I get this:

Beautiful antique ring !!!! I bet the ruby is real since set in 18 kt >> regardless > excellent digs

Cool adventure! Just wondering, is that an abandoned graveyard?
Congrats on the ring!

Beautiful old ring!

yardqueen,
the graveyard was in pretty bad disrepair, overgrown and about two hundred yards from where I found the ring.
I think if I go back, I'll take some shears and trim up the grass a bit and take some pics.
A shame it was in such disrepair, but the headstone readings were fantastic.
It is pretty far from where we park, but I promise to take pics the next time I am out there.
cheers
DG

very cool ring kudos 2 u !!

That is one kewl ring! 18kt is rare stuff indeed!
Is the stone cracked or is it my 57 year old eyes playing tricks again?

holey cow....when are ya going back, that is so pretty..excellent find.

Wow, that's a beauty! Nice stone, it looks like it was cut and mounted a good few years ago, and those are always more desirable and valuable.

BEAUTIFUL !!!!

Congrats !

Very nice find! I would researc the trademark symbol stamped on ring, it my be worth more as a collectors item than just the gold & stone!

Congrats on the ring, looking forward to seeing those pics of the graveyard. Man...that sounded morbid! lol

WoW nice find!!

Yep, the stone is chipped on the top, but not much. The chip had dirt pressed way down into it, so it is likely not from my digging tool.....phew....
researching the hallmark...
