Got out to a new field that surrounds a cellar hole of an old early 1800 home. There are about 20 acres of fields around the area that I have not touched yet. I have been scouting out some new areas for when my brother Rick (detectodude) comes out for our annual Brothers and Others Spring hunt in two weeks.
I was only able to spend about two hours there today, so I was not doing patterns but just checking around to see if there was anything out in these fields at all. And there was!! Found a couple of musket balls, an iron horse harness buckle, two small buttons, a 1902 Indian Head Penny and a great Western Union uniform button. The back is marked W.U. Tel. Co. W.B. Co. NY. This would indicate Waterbury Button Co. between 1856-1880. Not terribly valuable but in nice shape with some of the guilt still on it, and a nice piece of history.
This spot will definately be on the agenda for the Spring Hunt...Lance
