about time you found some lol I get alot of those by the river and fishing reels cool finds as always my Friend

Awesome hunt. Congrats :occasion14:

There's a Draped Bust dime hiding under that crust isn't there! 8-) Curious to know what it is if you clean it, the Rev. musket balls are nice but it always throws me off when old lead lacks the yellow/white oxide/carbonate patina. Makes my eyeball-age-detector go a bit wonky!

I have a handful of sites I get balls at - this one has produced the most - got over 200 here plus about a dozen minie balls
over the yrs
whats cool is I have no less than 6 different Calib. of balls from here

Not cleaned - that is how lead comes out most of the time from salt water
they will sometimes have a dark grey or black powder on them but as soon as you touch them it comes right off

Nice finds! :icon_thumleft: The Buffalo looks like it's in pretty good shape.

Good Job Mr CAsper! Like the lead...

Nice finds Casper. Hope you went home and dried those off properly ! You sure wouldn't want that lead to shrivel !
