Hey all,

I've been working it hard to start this year. My brother and I set an aggressive goal for and I want to stay out ahead of it.

A friend of mine recently bought a 1940s house north of Seattle. I asked if I could detect and she mentioned I was welcome to swing by today while she was doing work on it.

One of my first hits was the silver plated spoon. Definitely a good sign. The lot has a good size yard. Probably took me 4 hours to cover it all once through. It was loaded with wheats, I found 15 total. When I was almost done with the front yard I found the French coin. It really had me going! Looked like a big silver in the hole. Unfortunately it's aluminum. Still a cool piece of history though. The area has military ties so I imagine it was a souvenir from someone stationed abroad during WWII.

After hitting the whole yard I'd found some good stuff but hadn't pulled silver. I decided to regrid the yard going the opposite direction which probably took another hour.

I picked up a couple wheats doing this and also found the silver Rosie. That made my day.

I scoured a nearby park for about 15 minutes but was so tired after nearly 6 hours of hunting that I just didn't have the stamina to give it a thorough shakedown.

Today's keepers:
-1 Rosie (53S)
-1 KGV Canadian Penny (29)
-1 French 2 Francs (41)
-15 Wheats (40S, 42S, 44, 44S x4, 47S x3, 49S, 4XS, 54S, 56D, 57D)
-2 Tax Tokens

I'm leaving for a work trip tomorrow so you probably won't hear from me again until next weekend. Happy hunting folks!

Nice assortment of finds Washingtonian. I still think Tax Tokens are neat!

Congratualtions on the fine hunt! :occasion14:

Looks like another nice batch of finds. Congrats.

Nice hunt! Wtg on yet another silver, and what's there not to love about the patina on the /29.

Hunting the front yards of old houses has to be one of the best places to hunt. The older the house the better. Nice score on the rosie!

Excellent hunt

Very nice hunt! Do you ever travel with your detector??

You were on fire! What a hunt!

Nice finds. I like the unique coin and coin like pieces. Cant go wrong with silver. Congrats.

Generally I don't. For a vacation where I'm driving I might but not for a work trip where I'm flying. Too much extra hassle for not enough hunting time!

Nice score on the permission and all the keeper finds. Love the deep green patina on old George. Sweet! Looks like another property for you two to clean out. Well done.

Wow, what a day - Congratulations! :hello2::headbang::occasion14:

Wow! I mean WOW!!!:hello2:

Great hunt. That's a lot of wheats. Those old cap guns give such a great sound, that's a nice one. I hate aluminum coins almost as much as I hate tax tokens. Everyone knows coins should be made of silver. C'mon Europe get your crap together. Haha. Good job

Awesome job bud, y’all are killing 2018!
