what are these rocks !

hello im kinda new to posting pics on here so please bear with me i was at my brother in laws house yesterday and he showed me this rock , on the far left there is some shiney glazed ridges on it ive seen this before in certain rocks ,,does this stuff have a name , the other two pictures are just of the rock itself , thanks thanks reed !
