A fossil clam! it forms when mud gets trapped inside the shell and becomes fossilized! great find! HH omnicognic! 8)

I believe this was found at the bottom of Omnicognic's Lazy-Z- Boy chamber pot on the adjacent "What is this" thread.

Looks like a plummet ?. They were made and used by indians hundreds / thousands of years ago ?for fishing . The "RED PAINT" people of New England date back 6000 years . I have a book on them and it has pictures of plummets just like yours . Nice find !!

this appears to be a bivalve mollusk in very good shape! heres a few from here.. they are very abbundant in this part of Texas..
the little thing in the middle is a sea urchin... hope this helps H.H. searcher
