Found about 16 inches down in a farm field. Did Ford make tractors?

Certainly did.

Ford made tractors for about 73 years of active manufacturing under its direct ownership, spanning from the launch of the mass-produced Fordson in 1917 until the sale of its farm equipment division to Fiat in 1990.

As stated here, at the top of the thread there should be an "edit thread" button. Use that and you should be able to change the status to "Solved" and then save it. You should also be able to mark @pepperj 's post as the solution (I don't remember the exact button but it should be on that post someplace).
