Thompy, sorry that I making cabin fever worse. That is why we went on the hike, to get out of the house.

Thanks about the comments of the pictures. Its an old 3.0 megapixel Kodak digital camera. I can't wait to get back out there and get pictures of the waterfalls. I hope they turn out nice like the other pictures.

You have found a fantastic area to detect. I can't wait to see the pictures of your hunts. Do you have an old atlas of the county you live in? This will help you immensely in locating where the old houses were. If you don't have one, go to the library or historical society and get copies of that area. Those atlases will be your most valuable asset.

I think I may have found a map with the houses on it. Someone that will be MDing with me emailed the historical society to see if they have a map of the area.

Those digitals sure have made photography a lot more fun and economical.

In the future I plan to take more pictures of my hunt sites. I wish I had started earlier. In many ways the photos end up being more rewarding than the finds.

Woke up, got the bathroom stuff done and made breakfast.
Last roll of paper towels is getting skinny so went to make a shopping list. Looking for a pad of paper, I found a past due bill. Gotta get that paid, so looked for check book. Found no money in account so have to put on my list to go to bank. Also get stamps. Searching again for note pad found the new strings I was going to put on guitar. Got out guitar and remembered I had bought a thing to twirl the tuning knobs to make it faster to re-string. Looking for that, I decided I needed a cup of coffee as I passed the kitchen. Oh yea, need to put coffee filters on my list. And coffee. Now where is that pad? OK, got the pad and started list. Then put it on refrigerator next to grandsons artwork. Maybe I should take a picture of that and save it on the computer. Now where did I leave the camera? Oh, there it is right next to the stamps I bought last week. Let's see, I needed stamps for the bill. Where did I put that? .....
At the end of the day I got nothing done but worked hard at doing it.
Should have gone for a walk and taken nice pictures like smurf-42.

I went metal detecting in my backyard. Took out sons new ACE 250 and played around. Found 1 penny, but can't see the year on it and some nails, got to love them nails and where an old clothesline pole used to be.

After supper got to go out and get things tied down and/or put away before the storms come in this evening.

Spent the morning doing the preliminary design for Courtney's Sand Castle Park (100% accessible for handicapped kids) ...

then visited the endrocronologist at kaiser Hospital to change my insulin meds...

Now back at the office trying to complete the design.

Found the remains of the Union Star, Mo train depot that had been bulldozed up 15 yrs ago to make room for more planting. It will be a hell of a job to detect. It's now a pile of dirt and concret 6 ft or taller several yds long. So mainly i have been daydreaming about getting here about 20 yrs ago

Got up at 4:00 AM, couldn't sleep as usual. Made coffee, watched the rerun of Bill ORielly from yesterday, had a bagel and a banana my usual breakfast with another cup of coffee. Went out and got the newspaper at 5:00AM, paper guy punctual as always. Worked the puzzles and read the headlines with a third cup of coffee. Fed Digsy my dog and let her out to take care of business. Started watching something about the Civil War on TV, got sleepy at last and looked out to see rain pouring down. Went back to bed and snuggled up next to my wife until I woke back up at 10:00 AM. Got a shower, got on the computer for an hour, ate lunch, tuna sandwiches and chips. Put on a pot of beans for supper, baked some blueberry muffins and sliced some potatoes to be fried later, got out the cornbread muffin mix and muffin pan, ready to cook for supper. Watched TV for an hour and now here I am back on the computer. Typical day for a retiree, ho hum, still raining, looks like time for nap as beans are done. Decided to check my posts, got chewed out for calling a "mentally challenged" guy a retard. Go PO'd and retorted, not PO'd anymore. The more I think about it the funnier it gets. Some new guy thought I was talking about his kin as best I can tell. Quit raining and sun is out, too muddy to go prospecting, nap is sounding better all the time. Other than that I've done nothing today. Monty
