What do you think a fair price might be for this painting?

It's on an 18 inch canvas, Acrylic paints and no frame. I am looking at it to buy for a gift, but have no idea what art is selling for these days.

I would pay $250 minimum for that. Google said $30- $60 per square inch which seems like way too much. I'm no expert but some time and effort went into that. What's the asking price?

Thanks Gene. A local artist told me to make him an offer, but I had no idea what a fair price would be.

Is the painting actually for sale or is it in someone's private collection and you like it so much you want to maybe see if they'd part ways with it at an agreed price.?
