What does 916 designate...?

While Standard gold is 24 carat (100% pure gold), 22 carat or 916, ie 91.6% pure gold and the rest includes metals like copper and silver.

Ed is correct. Definitely 22kt.
The europeans mark most of their jewelry this way as apposed to "22kt".

I found a 22kt earring with diamonds too marked 916.

Hey guys, thanks for the response. I drop her off after each hunt so I never get pics of her finds. What I'll do is get a shot of it and the rest of the rings and post them.
