Hello All,
This small brass oval is about the same thickness as a U.S. Quarter. I am wondering what the initials are on it, what it might have been attached to, and if the style of script might say anything about the age of the piece.
Dug in a field where there was a house that was burned or gone by around 1850--which doesn't mean that the piece is that old...but almost all of what we've found there except farmer dropped coins has dated 1830-40 time frame.
Best Wishes,
Buckles
