What is it from the Cibolo dig

Alrighty then folks, Here's the context: Paleo layer (6.5 ft.) at the first TAAA Cibolo dig in Wilson county,Tx. The dig was literally across and down the street about 250 yards from the famous Wilson County sand pit. The deep soil is such that any worked flint from mid to early archaic developed a spider like calcium or lime encrustation all about it. Buffalo rib bones fell apart into dust when removed from the dirt. Flint forms at that level were mostly worn out agate basin, angustura ,and early archaic willow leaf type blades, and a few early triangulars. Found lots of Texas red ocher, even that had calcification. First I thought it was part of a bone pipe, but its 100% mineralized. What is it? Have a good evening ya'll. G

Not to be disagreeable, but all the megapredators were gone before the era he's describing.

Large predators like sabertoothcats and the short faced bear would certainly intruded on kills made by early humans . . . The extinction of [the huge ice age] browsers inevitably led to the demise of specialized predators because the number of predators is inextricably linked to the number of prey animals. This may be why human populations became visible once the large predators are gone.

Looks to me like it might a piece of Red Ocher that has crusted over with deposits.

Thank you everyone. Whatever it is, I think it got like it is before humans. Thats not saying it couldn't have been an item of camp interest when humans occupied the same strata and left their calling cards. Maybe a kid picked it up and colored it! Thanks again G.
