What is it? Need help

Strangley enough I found this coin roll hunting. I bought a $1000 bag of half dollars off of a coin counter and this was in the bag. Very close to the size of a half dollar. I believe it was probably found metal detecting, it definitely has the look of being in the ground for some time.

The back is blank, no marks at all. My first thought was a room key tag from a hotel, but a lot of those have the name of the hotel on it. Any ideas? The number is definitely 735 in the middle with the number 17 just above it (below the hole).

Miners tag, or hotel tag would be my best guess. One thing I do know about it for sure though is that it cost 50 cents.

Seems a bit ornate to be a miners tag. I don't know much about them, but a quick google search showed me that they were mostly just numbers and sometimes had the name of the mine on them. Hotel tags also where a bit more simple looking. Not sure what else it could be other than those 2 things, but if it is one of those it has quite a fancy design on it. Hopefully someone will chime in and hit us with some knowledge!
