Found detecting in ww2 military base. They dont use the base. No more. These both were found in different parts of the site one was found close to the road the H one. and the other one a little close inside. What does H stand for? what are these threaded items? What type of metal are these? Is it military?View attachment 1910771 20210316_202335.webp20210316_202340.webp20210316_202344.webp20210316_202348.webp20210316_202424.webp

Looks like a hanger,I can,t recall the scientific name but a threaded rod screws into it and the other end hooks or screws into a beam or bar joist.Just a guess,I,ve seen that before.

It is called an "eye nut"

I believe I’ve seen similar attached to the end of large artillery shells to assist in handling them, the eye nuts are removed then the fuses are installed. I might be way off but this is what I was thinking. However, those lifting lugs are used on many types of equipment as well.

When I was a teen, I worked as a ground hand for the power company. They use to have galvanized eye nuts of all different sizes on the trucks. Not sure what all they were used for, although the larger ones were used for guy wires as I recall.

I remember now.. A Google search refreshed my memory. They were used fro deadening suspension and strain insulators.

Agree with Mud Hut. I have found those near power lines.

They are used as part of the anchoring system for power poles. They would
set a screw anchor, then run heavy guy wires to the pole.
