Cool, you may want to see if it is silver then. The ones I have seen that come off where silver so they could be cleaned and polished really well. The exact font I have seen where from the mid 1800's. Never saw the exact one in such good shape though. Not sure what it is worth.

But it is a font for sure. I am sure you can find it with a google search for Silver Wall Mounted Jesus Font.

Find out what it is worth and then sell it in the Pool Table section on Ebay for Pool Cue chalk at twice the price. LOL

Where is you other stuff man. You always post at least two things.

Its been a long time since I have been to church but as far as I recall these hold holy water and upon entering and exiting the church, you dip your finger in the water and make the sign of the cross. So Oddjob is correct. And Digg is correct its a Miraculous Medal of Holy Mother Mary.

The sign of the cross is made by touching the hand sequentially to the forehead, lower chest or stomach, and both shoulders, accompanied by the Trinitarian formula: at the forehead In the name of the Father (or In nomine Patris in Latin); at the stomach or heart and of the Son (et Filii); across the shoulders and of the Holy Spirit/Ghost (et Spiritus Sancti); and finally: Amen.[7]

This object has been IDed, but here's what it possibly looked liked originally, and apparently from the 1930s.
