Any ideas on what this could be.......I believe it is handmade the pattern seems to mirror on each side......pattern is of birds and butterflies trees etc.

Looks to be like a hallway table cover where some type of accent item would set in the center.

The pattern is a version of the "tree of life". I would ask the actual dimensions and type of material it is made from. It doesn't appear to be wool. Looks more like a lightweight cotton material or is it more tapestry like in weight? Appears to be a runner of some type. With fringes all around I'd say it's for a table.

Did you buy this at an auction, or maybe in a lot with some others items. If there where any other items, was there any hand written papers or other personal affects. Like stuff totally not related to your soldiers seventh heaven martyrdom tapestry.

It's not heavy......it seems to be wool and silk......and no I didn't find any papers
