Copper locking plate had 2 slots up top (one is bent back, the other side is gone). Looks like a latch/lock from a bag or box. The site period is from roughly 1900-1940. It is most likely something a cowboy would use based on the area where it was found. CDB696A5-9AEC-415E-883D-FB0387D679DD.jpeg

Pretty thin, 25-30 thousandths, dug from a site in the middle of the state. Has a 6 or a 9 on o e side of the oval hole and another illegible character on the opposite side of the hole. Yes I’m east coast in 1715 territory
