I got this from a bag of old wrenches I got at the thrift store. I can find no maker's mark or other markings on it except for the engraved cross hatching on the hand hold. Granted it has been well handled to say the least. Anyone know what this puller/chisel/oversized primitive meat fork is/was used for?

Thanks

I think it's for pulling up railroad spikes. This would get the spike pulled up a bit, then a similar longer handled tool would finish the job.

That was quick! I'm going to mark it solved. The size and shape sure looks like a ball joint separator; although those seem to have more parallel prongs than this one. I can't find any spike pullers that resemble this one.

Thanks everyone.

in my opinion, yours is slightly bent. you can tell it's had a lot of use from the mushroomed striking end

AKA pickle fork in the automotive trade. They make them for ball joints and tie rod ends. Judging by the size, more likely the latter.
