What is this?

[vadigger89]

I dug this about a week ago in a civil war camp close to pieces of a lamp a friction primer and a sword cap. So I believe it is civil war era but I have no idea what it may be. The inside of the circle appears to have threads so I think something screwed into it. Any ideas?

Perhaps part of an oil lamp, where the wick holder screws in.

I think Mikusek is right on the I.D. Tennessee digger

Definitely the top section of the oil-resevoir on a brass-bodied oil/kerosene lamp.
