That is a Spanish Reale.

If it's the size of a quarter, it's a quarter reale

size of A half dollar? it's a half reale, ect, ect,

not an expect though.

Spanish money, cool!

it's ~90% silver.

This is all just my general coin knowledge. I do not ( currently ) collect this coin.

Notice, the pillars on either side on the reverse? Have you heard of the pilliar dollar?

Other folks surly know more.

Nice for a buck! What size is it?

No,I bought it from my friend.but he is so paranoid,he wanted me to tell everyone I got it from a coin store, and to not mention him,but I had convinced him to let me tell the truth the second time I uploaded it.

Nice! Great coin! I think you ripped your friend off for only a buck:-)

We had no idea what it was.I thought it was fake but offered him a dollar just out of curiosity.

That's the best buck you ever spent! That's a reale! I got one in a bundle of silver coins I bought from a garage sale for 25 bucks but mine has a hole :(

Post it under the coins section and a better photo comparing it to something to get the denomination and someone will be able to get you a value for your coin.

It's a 1/2 real; minted in Mexico City; assayer FM; .9027 fine silver. If it were a 1R, it would show that designation; otherwise, simply as a 'R' means it's a 1/2 R.
Don........
PS: It's retail valued at $10 in VG (2013 North American Coins and Prices, by David C. Harper)

That's a cool find. The oldest coin I've dug is a reale dated 1758. I don't collect them but may some day.
