what is this?

I found this thing broken in half in the river. I think it is an antique. Anyone know what it is and how much its worth? it has a face scribbled on it.

I'm not familiar with that mark, but it looks like the top portion of a brown porcelain insulator.

Look up at the power or telephone poles, that is probably where it came from.
