Found this thing with a anchor on it and a button and a really worn out large cent or KG all in a field .I was just out searching fields hoping to find a homestead that's not on any maps...this is all I found besides a few pieces of horse shoes.

I believe that anchor piece is a British Royal Navy cuff link. Revolutionary War period. + or -. Very nice historic finds! Congrats. Go back there.

I'm sure it's not a cuff links it's 2 inches long and a inch wide..thanks for the info on the age...I will definitely go back

I'm not exactly sure what it is but I like it - A-lot.
 
Sorry, missed that detail. The fouled anchor, whatever it is, is Royal Navy related. Interesting.
It doesn't match any British Royal Navy period item I know of.
Not British & may not even be Military as the anchor was widely used on Civilian items. Interesting enough to do further research on, as I'm unsure of it's function.

Perhaps the word "inspired" would be better than "related." I do appreciate the correction.
