okay so it's not mica not sure what it is it's not pyrite put it in muriatic acid and the gold looking flake are still left behide

I see you might not be familiar with dangerous chemicals because nictric acid is what some of us use to dissolve minerals other than gold. But you are in luck because all you need to do is crush a sample and then pan it out, that will show you if any of those flakes are gold:
