Ive gone out against handful of guys with Deus's
and followed others using them
out shoot them and get stuff deeper than them all the time
but I hunt all metal

Bingo, all metal rules. I let my ears do the discrimination. I think all quality detectors have comparable coil, transmit, and receive capabilities. The money is in the software running on the machine for discrimination etc.

The cost of the machine doesn’t determine how well it will perform!

There are areas that require discrimination and when you dont have lot of time because you are
away from home
but I run into guys all the time that crank their discriminators in areas that just dont need it
I started out as a 90% land - 10% water hunter
i m now 90% water - 10% land
I started water hunting using a PI machine which picks it all up - as small as steel BBs
you hit a beach I frequent and 99% of the deeper trash is taken out and i pull all the recent stuff if i been there recently
I follow right behind guys and get deep goodies they miss and/or small gold the miss because
they unnecessarily are using to much discrim.
You got good spots you frequent - go all metal - and try to take it all out
