A belt buckle to assist in holding up your trousers IMO. I would think that would be made around late 19th early 20th century?? and I could be off by 50 years +/- on that. I take it there are no markings on it?

no markings but it seems there was something round attached to the front of the buckle at one point in time I'll post a better pic when I clean it up a little more!!

Boy I don't know?? Would any particular coin fit the size of that circle? Maybe a coin of some kind was once glued to it? I not seeing any evidence that any thing that was attached by means of a rivet or solder. Hopefully someone glued a five dollar gold piece to it and it fell off close to where the buckle was lost and you go looking for it.:) It looks like it's maybe made of copper or brass? Maybe a one off hand made buckle?

Maybe if it was a foreign coin they have some that could fit but nothing American fits and no I searched around where I found it no gold �� I also believe it's made of brass still no markings but thanks for the help at least I have an idea on how old it is!!
