Found this stuff in indiana. Is the ring civil war era or later? And what kind of gun shot this 3 ringer.

Your minie bullet is a big ol' .69 caliber round, for the model 1842 musket:

Originally the model 1842 musket was smoothbore, for firing round ball ammunition. Many were later rifled, to fire the conical minie bullet, in the beginning of the American Civil War.

The ring looks to be late 1800's to maybe early 20th century to me.
