What kind of ring???Help

Found this ring today. Was wondering if anyone knows what kind of stone is in it , also there is a mark stamped in the ring, but I can not make it out. Eyes are not like they used to be. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Shane

Looks like a lady's ring, but I cannot even begin to guess at the stone due to the light shining on it and leaving a glare. Can't really see the engraving/marking on the band, either. Guess my eyesight is challenging yours!!
