My first thought... "Old!" I'm with Opalboy. It isn't as old as it appears.

Yep, these kinds of watches use cheap battery-operated quartz movements with generic retro and pseudo-Victorian bronze/brass cases originating from China. They’ve been made for a number of years, but note that battery-powered quartz movements for wrist or pocket watches weren’t commercially available until the very end of 1969 and didn’t become inexpensive mass-produced items until the 1980s.

They’re often sold as pendant watches for ladies, or as unisex fashion, and there are multiple variations in design, with some having ornate snap-covers to protect the crystal with various themes for particular markets… birds, butterflies, flowers, zodiac symbols, cars or whatever.

Multiple companies still sell them today, such as HUIBBGO, Univers Gosset, Holy Sins, and Royal Opera among others with prices ranging from about $8 to $40.

It's a quartz movement. Those don't have a mainspring that needs winding. The winding knob only serves to mechanically set the time.

I finally thought I found something good at goodwill. I Feel bad for the person that spends 20 bucks on it.
