This is not a metal detecting find, infact this came out of a box I bought 20 yrs ago at a live auction house.. I have absolutely no clue if its old or not.. this is how it was found in the bottom of the box lot I had bought..so if anyone knows please let me know.. I tried to take as clear of a picture as I could..

You have a General Service button. Due to the backmark Scovill and Waterbury, it was made between 1850 - 1865.

holey moley am dumbfounded.. and I have had it for at least 20 yrs and just found it in the box up in the attic.. well, this just knocked me over with a feather I tell ya..

Oh I super intend to keep it Nick.. are ya kidding me.. since I am not in a civil war area and have only found that one rosette thingy from the calvery here.. so now I have two items from the civil war.. totally fricking awesome.. wohoooooooooo :thumbsup:
