What mistakes have you made while detecting?

I forgot my most repeatable mistake. i always keep my eye on the pin pointed spot until i can my digging into position. What I don't watch is my head phones wire. I am forever stepping on it and then standing up and ripping the head phone off my head. i do that at least once every hunt.

This topic is fun. A good lessons learned list. This is just one of my many. I did a dive where after all my equipment checks were completed, I left my detector behind.
