What The Heck IS This Thing?

Does it feel like bone or just stone?

Hi all! My first post here. :hello:

So I found this Thing on Myrtle Beach, SC (East Coast, US) after a major hurricane. It is 2.25 inches (5.5 cm) in length, 1.75 (4 cm) inches in width. It is shaped like a rodent's head, with Asian-style 'eyes' and large 'ears'. There are three incongruous indentions where a 'mouth' and 'nose' should be (could be random pocks). Between the 'ears', the stone is polished nearly smooth, as though it has been rubbed back and forth with a coarse rope for many years. There is also a very slightly raised ridge between the 'ears', in nearly a straight line (I think that should upload as the third pic).

Any guesses? I've been wondering for thirty years :)

I was about to say the same, but I thought I might sound silly. Glad to find a similar opinion :)

I would make it seem more scientific, instead of saying, "It's a rock" how about, "It's a naturally occurring solid aggregate of one or more minerals or mineraloids; in other words, a rock :).

I think "It's a rock" works too though :)

(Wikipedia's defination not mine)
