I detected the woods to the west of the site where the archeologists were digging and found this piece . . . I have no idea what it is!? :icon_scratch: It's heavy and probably weights 1 - 2lbs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Has anyone mentioned that it's a fuel pump?

Yup, must be a fuel pump that quit working. :dontknow: What are the archies looking for, the rest of the tractor?

I know this sounds strange, but I think it might be an old fuel pump.

So I guess the general consensus is, and I agree, that it is an old fuel pump. I've changed many of them. They bolt right to the side of the engine block.

Let me make absolutely sure I understand . . . you all think this is a fuel pump for a Fordson tractor, 1952 - 1961 models? :tongue3:

Just had to make sure! :laughing7:

Thanks for your help guys!

Two years ago they dug an area of 50' x 50' inside an old horse paddock, I have no idea what they were looking for or what they found.

Here's a link to what I found around the periphery of the archeological site.

Used to drive a Fordson as a kid working for an apple orchard that brought back good memories.

Thanks for your post Back-of-the-boat.
They were a beautiful looking machine, I don't think I've ever seen one up here in Canada. :icon_scratch:
