What do you do when you find out competition at the same bank? I just got a couple boxes from a new bank and yes they also have 4 boxes there that were ordered by someone else. I want to get those boxes so badly. I had some decent results from the 2 boxes I got so I'm guessing there will be keepers in those 4 boxes. I want at those boxes so bad it's killing me. The competition is just too much now a days. I wish I could just give them my dumps and they can just swap boxes. The big question is how can I convince the tellers to do that? I just started ordering halves at this bank although I've been there before to pickup pennies so they've seen me before.

Man, I feel like this addiction is just getting the best of me. It's like a disease. I have a hunger for the silver that can never be satisfied. Every so often, one might get a good box but it's never good enough. You go hungry again in hours. AARRGH THE HUNGERRR!!! LOL

Unfortunately, my boxes would come next week. I don't know if they have that much room. I'll call them in two days to see if the guy picked them up. If not, I'll try to get them or swap them boxes.

Yeah, one bank manager said I have too much free time bc I am always ordering coins to search through. She is cool and knows I am collector. Haven't told her I am looking for silver, that I just like halves bc I make sets of them haha.

When she asked why I spend so much time doing this, I said because its addicting and is healthier than meth lol.

I'd do the right thing, though, and let the other guy buy the boxes he ordered. We all know what it is like to have boxes sold out from under us...so be a gentleman in this sport.

I would let the tellers know that you'll take any boxes that aren't picked up by the other guy. This will let the tellers know you are a gentleman, that you play fair, and you'll take their 'problem' boxes if need be. You'll look like a champ if you play this right.

I think the hunger is worse after getting a producing box. I've had it happened to me before too. I had a box I ordered get picked up by someone else. I don't think the tellers care. I told the teller if I get good boxes from them, I will be ordering from them regularly, and I will be bringing cookies or other gifts. The order teller was stoked as though no one has ever done that for them before. I do treat my order banks well since they are the lifeline. I will do whatever it takes to keep the machine moving. I think I will give it a couple days and call to ask if the guy picked them up to be fair. If the guy doesn't get them right away, I'll ask to pick up since I know they don't like them sitting around. I could also ask to swap them one of the boxes. I figure one box won't matter. I think that's happened to me before. I remember getting a box once where the rolls looked like they were rolled in a poor manner and it was a pure skunker. I think someone did that to me. They re-wrapped the rolls and had the bank gave it to me.

It's ok.. I wasn't planning to swap all of his boxes. He ordered 4 and I had 2. I just wanted to swap for one box. That would make it even. I've had that happen to me so why not? If he got keepers in his 3 with one skunk? Not so bad?

I've been to the bottom of that pile. There's nothing there. It's empty so they just order new coins from the FED. There's so much competition in my area that boxes have dried up. That's what happened to me 2 weeks ago. I had my usual order with my main order bank and they were empty handed. The teller told me that she called their vault and they told her they have no boxes left. The following week, I got all brand new coins because they had to call the FED for new coins .

Trust me.. The bottom of the pile isn't what it's cracked out to be. You don't want all brand new coins of the same year.

As an aside- what I used to do when I found out I had comp at the same bank was to find out how much the bank was willing to order on a weekly basis and then order that much- the tellers always liked ME best, the draw back to that was that sometimes shortened the lifespan of that branches ordering for anybody.

Wished I could order $5K in boxes but I don't have the funds. I usually do around 2-3 boxes a week. Recently due to higher prices, I have moved it up to 4 boxes. The problem is that I can only get 2 at a time, sort, dump, and return if I ordered more. It's a pain especially with higher gas prices. I try to build good rapport with tellers at my order banks. Funds to search are real tight right now.

I know what you mean. I am in the SF Bay Area too and that happened to me last week. I got two brand new boxes of halves..

Well, you snooze you lose.. this guy didn't even pick them up. This guy may have the money but must be an amateur. The bank gave me the ok. I don't have all the funds so I got 3 boxes and CRHed one of them, dumped it, and came back for the last one. It was a lot of work.

I don't post box results often if ever but why not? These were supposed to be a productive group.

Box 1: 4 40%ers

Box 2: 2 90%ers 6 40%ers

Pretty good for me since I've been skunked with new coins or low yields for a while. 1 skunk box out of 4 is good. I was getting skunked on half of them for a while.

Box 3: 1 90%er 3 40%ers

Box 4: Skunk

What's troubling is that the teller manager told me that he's getting 4-5 people a week now calling about boxes. Wow.. that's a lot of competition but I won a small battle today.

I gave the guy two days from when the boxes got there. I asked and they gave them to me.

With all the people calling about them, I can't imagine them holding onto them forever for this guy.

Well, it's happened to me before. Some guy took a box a I ordered last year.
