What to Offer?

I haven't bought coins from an individual in several years and will be looking at a collection sometime next week. What would be a fair offer for both average circulated, common date Morgans and Peace dollars as well as Ike's?

Kansas, it kinda depends on who you are making the offer to, in my opinion. Personally I would make a decent offer to someone I knew, whereas I may really try to be a little tougher on a stranger. With that said, these Morgan and Peace dollars, being in average circulated condition are really worth not much more than the silver melt value of the coin. With that said, I would offer a friend or relative around $13 each, and a stranger $10.
Check Craigslist, and you can see them selling for anywhere from 10-25 for common dates. Offer $1 ea. for the Ikes, as you can get these from your bank at face in $1000 bags. I see people selling these for $1.25 to $2.00 each, but they are only taking advantage of people's ignorance of the true value of these coins.
Back to the Morgans and Peace dollars, you can buy them all day long from coin shops for $19 ea. so I would definitely NEVER pay more than that for common dates. Hope some of this helps you make a good decision. Good luck,, Gpurs...
