What type of pinpointer do you prefer?

Hay, I bought a good detector, an XLT. It pinpoints most targets to the point where I can insert my probe and touch it, But there is the occasional hard to see target like a #6 shot or a tarnished copper. For those I just want a pinpointer that goes beep beep at about 1/2". Why pay $160 when I can get the same results for $16? Frank...-

This is the big dog on the hunt!

The new science complementing equipment also seems to apply to the old science with the XLT and the HF they also seem to be a good fit for each other and you. Very glad you are happy.

I have a garrett and a sunray.I am completely over the sunray,it added weight in the wrong place on my machine and it has to be moving to work.never mind that it is super easy to forget to switch back to coil after a dig and waste time till you realise its too quiet.
sunray was the best out there when I got it...expensive too...can only go on the machine you ordered it for.

The garrett has been great for me...I dont baby it at all and never a problem..2 yrs.now

I have had 5 pro pointers since I started detecting and every single one has messed up on me, sent them into be fixed countless times, they used to send a brand new one each time but last two times they sent me a new one with OLD cap, you ask why? Well the cap has the serial number so they know warranty has ran out so they wont fix it anymore. For what they cost they should last MORE than 6 months even if I do hunt a lot! I just sold my propointer on ebay and got me a TRX 3 weeks ago, it is far better, goes deeper and has awesome features I love, if it lasts longer than 6 months then it beats the pro pointer hands down!!

I like my TRX yet I've only had it since March. It has gone off beeping in air multiple times for no reason but a quick reset usually fixes it. My point is that nobody know what the durablilty over time, even 6 months, will be at this juncture.

I've been very lucky I guess. I also have had 5 PPRs, and none of the breakdowns people keep talking about. I actually bought a second Garretts just in case I did have a bad experience, and that never happened. The first one is just fine and I ran the newest(by 2 months) Garretts PPR since 2010, so no issues for me. My Pistol probe, no issues of breakdowns, even though it sucks for volume. Can't really say much about my Bullseye II since it came in a factory replacement box, but it does what I expecterd it to do...which is to get real colse to the ProPointer in depth, enev though it doesn't have the proximity feature.

Now I have the TRX, and all of the other pointers as well. Each and everyone just as reliable IMO as day1. I'll never have a single guilt feeling over selling any of my pointers. Mine have been solid. martin

Hope you find lots of crusty zinc pennies :laughing7: And lots of silver and gold my friend. HH!

At least I can find them now! That bullseye2 is a disappointment, in my opinion. I can't wait to use the proximity feature. The trx new was only 20 bucks more than a used propointer! That's shipped to my door... From Kellyco.

Harbor Freight, $16.

Have a Garrett right now only had it a year and I'm starting to have problems. Had s sunray didn't like the way it felt kn my safari so luckily I was able to make a nice profit on eBay with it lol haha

My next one with be the minelab pro find it a whites.

This must be the M6 corner I have one also!
My pistol probe drove me nuts like it had to have motion to find the target.
I had an old bullseye for years that I have replaced the on/off button on 4 times, it finally bit the dust last fall, whites hadn't put the TRX out yet so I got a pro pointer, no complaints. It and the M6 will have a convo if they are too close, probably making snide remarks about me. Harbor freight I may get as a back up, just as long as it goes beep and I know approximate distance to target...those chests of gold are good at hiding! :laughing7:
