A simple river stone that sort of looks like its been fossilized or even char burned..Depending on where it was located.. I think it was used in a coal furnace because this stone retains heat for long periods of time thus the pitting.. as it burns.. the stone actually melts or is drawn into itself..

From the pics nothing definitive can be said, perhaps a granitoid?
