Found this walking in Harford County Maryland. Silver white shiny crystals and black. Can someone help with ID?

Schist maybe. Metamorphic I'm thinking, but often tough to label a rock with a specific name, which it might very well have one or not.

It could very well be granite and quartz. We find pieces like that all the time near culverts or a water source. When it stays in the mud and water with no sun light for a long period of time they tend to change and become clear.
