again me sorry for my never ending questions...on my Tejon 9x8 concentric coil and I don like it for very little ground cover--maybe I am not right?? but what you friends can tell me about widescan or double D coils for tejon? what minuses and pluses? what widescan coil is deepest for small and middle items in iron on Tejon? need coil mainly for iron places. because still will use explorer in not so litered lend. thanks Stasys :notworthy:

Re: what widescan coil on tesoro tejon deeper for small and middle targets?

The Widescan coils are deeper and cover more area at the bottom of the coils field. Sorta like a windshield wiper than a cone that a concentric coil makes. The field at the bottom of a conc coil is maybe 2" circle so if you are not over lapping a lot you are missing a lot of targets. One of the reasons you can detect behind someone and find things the other missed. There detector wasn't to fault, only they didn't get the field centered on the item.

I don't have a Widescan coil for my Tejon so I don't know how well it finds small items. :coffee2:

Thanks Sandman I new about concentric and dd-widescan coil magnetic field shape, but just bought Tejon and tested 9x8 concentric coil and was not impressed, but its just theory and I think in the field can be different story. So to hear from people who use both widescan and concentric would be very nice, but again I am not believe of small coils in iron. but maybe I am wrong that I dont like small coils? just using explorer learned that small coils is not better in trash even if theoretically looks like this. Thanks Stasys
