I look at it this way...... while gold is high priced, it's great... if you're selling it. Otherwise to me, the higher it is the worse things in the world are, especially the economy. I sold what gold I had back in 2012 when gold reached about 1700 bucks an ounce. Back then I didn't think it would go much higher. Of course looking back I was wrong, but in reality as bad as I thought things were then, the world is much worse today in terms of economics and peace. Personally, I'd rather see the price of gold come back down to the 250 to 400 dollar an ounce range because it would reflect that the world is in a better state both economically and in terms of peace. Of course there are many other factors that cause the price of gold to fluctuate. I'm just noting my personal opinion on the matter.

100% speculation controls the market.
Supply and demand + market fears OR feeling of security. Greed and fear are odd bedfellows. 😄
We’ve seen similar for many years.
3 choices for players:
1) stay in
2) get out
3) get in

I don’t see where a little more wealth will significantly change my life. So for me, moot point. Best of wishes to those speculating.

Been following gold for over 50 yrs and played with the Hunt brothers in their silver run-up. Price of gold related to inflation - when inflation goes up gold goes up. Inflation goes down gold corrects, goes down 10-20%, but stays elevated from previous high. Trump is doing a wonderful job of increasing inflation by the Iran war increasing the price of oil and thus price of almost everything thus inflation. BUY GOLD at this dip. When Walsh takes control of the Fed, he'll force interest rates lower which will spike inflation. By keeping interest rates depressed, inflation will take off and like any third World country, go sky high and the price of gold will follow. The value of the dollar will fall and fall.
