I mostly hunt local parks and disturbed ground when I can. By disturbed ground I mean a sidewalk or curb restoration. Where I live limestone lies just beneath the surface. It's not unusual to get into rocky soil 2" deep or less. I often get a good signal, maybe 8" deep or so. At 3 or 4" I hit limestone and simply can't dig it to get to the target. Keep in mind I'm digging public property so bringing in an excavator is not an option.
