I have driven about five hours one way and I am planning a trip in the spring which will be about twelve hours one way. The first trip was for fun (coins, relics, whatever was in the park area we hunted). The second will be for a cache some of us are researching. To get a chance to do some real nugget shooting, I would probably drive from north central Texas to western Arizona!

Genrally about 20 miles, but I've made some forum friends and have two trips already coming up; one 300 miles and the other 700 miles for a group hunt in Kentucky.

It all depends on how good the prospective site is, to me. I have driven two and a half hours each way just to probe holes. Now I have to go back and dig the holes I found. I would have already if It wasn't frozen solid outside.

I average about 60- 70 miles 1 way most trips, an have gone 140 miles 1 way a few times.

Hell... I hopped on a plane and flew to another country to detect. Well, I was going on vacation anyway... but my detector just hopped in my bag for the trip

L,

I focus on my local area, about 60 miles one
way.

If I've got a hot idea or tip, anything goes.

have a good un........................

Depends.

a One day & done site, with the Right History.
90 minutes. maby more

a Regular site, that I Plan on traveling to Regularly.
45 Minutes Tops.

100 minutes each way for a day trip. Further away, I'd probably do an overnight trip.

I'll travel a couple hundred miles one way on the weekends sometimes. Not all the time though. Most of the time though,an hours drive or less.

No distance is too far. Part of the experience is the overall adventure.

id say up to about 4 hours if the situation looks interesting enough. that would be a rare occasion though. most of my hunts are within 40 minutes or so.

Planning on a trip to Rehoboth,Bethany, and Ocean City and possibly even further South, then heading west to Grand Canyon,Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, Colorado,Wyoming,Yellowstone,Mt. Rushmore and yes my detector is going along

I think it would depend on the circumstances, I would travel to detect at a site that I have investigated and felt might produce something, that being said, it would have to be something special. Granted I would travel to a detectorist convention or something of that sort.
