What's the scoop on the 1765 galleon wreck charted on Romans' map ?

Is this just an instance of bad information being passed on from cartographer to cartographer or is there possibly something to the story???

One easy way to find out......

There is a really long history of people looking for that wreck going back to the early days of scuba diving, and so many different stories about what was or was not found it is hard to know what to believe. If memory serves correctly that particular Romans chart location was used by one of the groups decades ago that salted a site with emeralds in an (unsuccessful) attempt to fleece influential Bahamians. As the potential Bahamian investor told me - when they came up with emeralds all neatly prepackaged we knew exactly what was going on!

In the 80s I researched for Peter Throckmorton in a project linked to Bob Marx. There is no word of a rich shipwreck in 1765 in the Bahamas. I researched months. Ghost shipwreck information!
